Body Remix – Goldberg Variations (2007)

In this new work by Marie Chouinard, the dancers execute variations on the exercise of freedom. Often, the dancers appear on points: on one, two, and even four at a time. In a spectroscopy of the gesture, we also see them using different devices - crutches, rope, prostheses, horizontal bars, and harnesses - which at times liberate their movements, at others fetter it, and at sill others create it.





Symphonic Landscape – Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (2006)
With Kent Nagano and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal

Internationally acclaimed conductor Kent Nagano leads the 85 musicians of Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in a gala performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Drawing upon the music, this program blends short features and visuals during the first three movements, and then presents the Ode to Joy in its entirety.

Rockabilly 514 (2006)

Rockabilly 514 is a social rockumentary about the rockabilly sub-culture within Montreal and its people who share a lifestyle influenced by the 1950s. Elvis, Hot Rod, Tattoo. This documentary gives an outside-in look to a lifestyle that transcends time and space.




The Cross and Bones (2005)

Filmed in Alberta's Drumheller Valley, this documentary recounts how three groups of people with diametrically opposed convictions and interests - fundamentalist Christians, scientists and 3000 bikers - come together and reflect upon our collective destiny. Using metaphors for faith, hedonism and science, the work questions humanity's leading beliefs and value systems but never takes sides, leaving viewers to do their own reflecting.

Shakin' all over (2005)

Shakin' all over, the first in a series of three episodes on popular Canadian music, focuses on the emergence of the style up through the early 1970s. Through interviews with the artists who were part of the phenomenon and archival material, we gain an understanding of the era and its impact on the current state of pop music.

Against the wind, against the tide (2003)

A personal reflection and quest by Zachary Richard, who guides us on a journey of discovery of the Cajun people. Tracing his people's history and painting a portrait of their contemporary reality, Against the wind, against the tide deals with the survival of persons and cultures, exploring in the process the great issue of cultural identity.

Their brimming passion shows itself in their gestures, their expectations and the individual path each has followed.

Blending a bold touch and a well-developed sense of humour, this 13-part series looks at great classical music composers. Hosted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin of L'Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal.
